Accessibility
We have a policy of being all inclusive – we will do everything we can to help guests with disabilities participate. It does depend on the nature of your disability and the activity that you are hoping to participate in. Some activities are easier to adapt than others.
Nuclear Adventures
- Nuclear Adventures is located in a natural bowl. Access to activities is via either a stepped walkway or and natural sloped pathway.
- The main building can only be accessed via steps.
- The nearest Step free accessible toilet is located at the Secret nuclear bunker a 1-minute walk along natural paths
- Some of the paths to the individual activities may have a steep gradient and wheelchair users may require some assistance.
High Ropes Course
The High Ropes course is located in the centre of the site and is accessed via natural pathways.
This activity would not usually be suitable for persons with poor mobility. Guests will need to be able to support their own weight and maintain balance on the aerial ropes and obstacles.
To take part in this activity it is important that all participants can follow and abide by the instructions given by the tutor.
There is a small spectator viewing area.
Axe & Knife Throwing
The Axe arena is less than one minute from the main reception cabin and is access via natural.
Due to the nature of this activity guests must have suitable mobility to allow them to move out of the way of any rebounding axes.
This activity is not suitable for wheelchair users.
To take part in this activity it is important that all participants can follow and abide by the instructions given by the tutor.
Zip Trek
This activity involves traversing Zipwire through the forest.
Participants must be able to support their own weight and have use of at least one hand to hold the assistance ropes. The course begins with a set of steps and has further steps along the course.

Rifle Shooting
The Rifle range is less than one minute from the main reception cabin and is access via natural.
This activity is suitable for some guests with disabilities however the use of hands is required to operate the rifles.
Nuclear Bunker
As you can imagine the bunker was built for fit young things in the event of there being nothing outside, so our access to the whole is somewhat limited.
When you arrive at the car park, ignore the ‘no vehicles past this point ‘ sign and drive over the hill. Park in the staff car park and enter the bunker via the
exit (canteen entrance) You can do the tour in reverse. You will be able to do the top floor as its on the level, in your chair.
Providing you can get out of the chair and into a stairlift we can get you to the middle floor where you can use our wheelchair -as that floor is also on the flat.
This is then decision time. Go on or return to the canteen via the stairlift..
If you decide to go on, to access the bottom floor, you would need to be able
to get down 20 wide shallow with bannisters stairs. The bottom floor has 5 lots of 5/6 steps to get up or down- but you can view most of that level from a wheelchair in strategic places whilst listening to the commentary if so desired.
You MUST be able to get UP 9 steps with bannisters to get out of the bunker.
If you cannot do that then please do not go down to the bottom level. If you have a driver then they can bring the car to the bunker entrance which would be your exit point.
For those who are not in wheel chairs but just want to know what to expect if you do the tour in the proper way.
There is a 100yd walk from the car park to the bunker entrance. There are steps but also a ramp to get into the guard house which is the entry point.
You will need to go down 9 wide shallow with bannister steps (WSWBS) to get into the entrance tunnel, which is some 120yds long. The bottom floor has 5 lots of 5/6 steps (WSWBS) as that floor is on many levels. There are chairs upon which you can rest your weary limbs if required! It is possible to view most of it via ramps if need be. You will then need to go up 20 WSWBS to access the middle floor which is all on the level. A further 20 WSWBS to get you to the top floor which is also on the level. The tour finishes in the canteen and you exit at ground level with a 100yd walk back to the car park. You could send your driver to the car park to get the car, which can then pick you up at the canteen entrance, to save the walk to the car park.
I hope this answers your questions, if not, please don’t hesitate to ask
